Dubai police introduces its first Robotic member ‘Robocop’.
While we are still talking and debating about techno-friendly world, Dubai is a step ahead. After testing on flying cars, Dubai introduces a robotic police officer who will be helping their human mates over the streets of Dubai.
Robocop rolls on wheels can salute, bow, scan faces, talk in multiple languages and recognise hand gestures from up to 1.5 m away.The robot has a tablet on its chest which civilians can use to report crimes. This newest member of Dubai’s police force starts work this Tuesday. Robocop was designed in assistance with the IBM’s Watson and Google by the Dubai police. According to Brigadier-General Khalid-Nasser Al-Razouqi, Director of the Smart Services Department for the Dubai Police the robot is made to tackle and take care of smaller issues.
Daily Mail quoted Al-Razouqi as voice communication, “The launch of the world’s 1st operational Robocop may be a vital milestone for the Emirate and a step towards realising Dubai’s vision to be a worldwide leader in sensible cities technology adoption. With Associate in Nursing aim to facilitate and help individuals within the malls or on the streets, the Robocop is that the latest sensible addition to the force and has been designed to assist United States fight crime, keep town safe and improve happiness levels.”
Al Merri, Dubai Police commander-in-chief was quoted expressing, “We planned for a security system for the long run of the town to tackle future crimes. By 2025, Dubai is going to be one among the most effective five cities within the world on security level. By 2030, there’ll be no mysterious or unknown crimes in Dubai and therefore the police will have the largest DNA information bank within the country.”
